Thank you for watching this brief history of how we got the Bible. 

This presentation has illustrated the early history of the writing of the Words of God on scrolls.

These scrolls/ little books were brought together into our Book of Books.

Over the years, these books have been divided into chapters and verses.

Over the years, these books have been translated from the original languages of Hebrew and Greek into every known language (illustrated here with Latin, Ethiopic, Syriac, and English).

This presentation has shown how in some Bibles the text has been changed by man’s mistakes (“He” Bible), confused by man’s translation (“Breeches” Bible), or corrupted by man’s interpretation (“Wife Beater’s” Bible).

Still, the Word of God is a “…lamp unto our feet, and a light unto our path.” Psalm 119:105
