Abraham gave gifts to Melchizedek:

Magi gave gifts to Jesus:

  1. Priest of God Most High

  2. King of Righteousness

  3. King of Salem (Peace)

  4. Abraham offered gifts to Melchizedek (he represented his descendants, including the priests of Israel).  Read Hebrews 7.

  4. The Magi offered gifts to Jesus and honored Him as King of the Jews.
     

Bible information on Abraham:

  1. Abraham was the 10th generation from Noah, of the lineage of Shem.

  2. God called Abram out of Ur to travel to a land he did not know (a faith journey).

  3. God changed Abram's name to Abraham (Father of many (nations or multitude) and gave him a promise.

  4. God promised to make his descendents like the "stars of the sky" in their multitude (Gen. 15:4).

  5. After a victory in battle, Abraham offers gifts to Melchezidek (Priest of God Most High, King of Peace, King of Righteousness, Heb. 7).

  6. Isaac, the child of the promise,  is born to Abraham and Sarah when they are very old (Gen. 21:1-5).

  7. After Sarah's death, Abraham married Keturah and had six sons by her.

  8. Before his death, Abraham gave these sons gifts and sent them to the land of the "east."

Bible Information on the Magi

  1. When Jesus was born, Magi or "wise men" came from the "east" seeking the one who was born King of the Jews (Hebrews).

  2. They had seen his star in the east.

  3. The Magi gave gifts to Jesus (King of the Jews) and worshipped him.
