Bible information on Abraham:
-
Abraham was the 10th generation from Noah, of
the lineage of Shem.
-
God called Abram out of
Ur
to travel to a
land he did not know (a faith journey).
-
God changed Abram's name to Abraham (Father of
many (nations or multitude) and gave him a promise.
-
God promised to make his descendents like the
"stars of the sky" in their multitude (Gen. 15:4).
-
After a victory in battle, Abraham offers
gifts to Melchezidek (Priest of God Most High, King of Peace, King of
Righteousness, Heb. 7).
-
Isaac, the child of the
promise, is born to Abraham and Sarah when they are very old (Gen.
21:1-5).
-
After Sarah's death, Abraham married Keturah
and had six sons by her.

Before his death, Abraham gave these sons gifts
and sent them to the land of the "east."

When Jesus was born, Magi or "wise men" came
from the "east" seeking the one who was born King of the Jews (Hebrews).
