Water to Wine/Pouring Out Miracle
Read the miracle of water to wine at the wedding feast. John 2:1-12

We'll pick up with verse 6 ...

"Nearby stood six stone water jars, the kind used by the Jews for ceremonial washing, each holding from twenty to thirty gallons.

Jesus said to the servants, "Fill the jars with water"; so they filled them to the brim.

Then he told them, "Now draw some out and take it to the master of the banquet."

They did so, and the master of the banquet tasted the water that had been turned into wine. He did not realize where it had come from, though the servants who had drawn the water knew. Then he called the bridegroom aside and said, "Everyone brings out the choice wine first and then the cheaper wine after the guests have had too much to drink; but you have saved the best till now."

This, the first of his miraculous signs, Jesus performed in Cana of Galilee. He thus revealed his glory, and his disciples put their faith in him.

This beginning of signs Jesus did in Cana of Galilee, and manifested His glory; and His disciples believed in Him."

I believe there is significance in the number of stone jars -- six.  E. W. Bullinger in his book, Numbers in Scripture, states that six is the number impressed on man.  Man was created on the sixth day;  six days are appointed for his labor (Ten Commandments).  Six is the number of imperfection -- man without God.  Whereas, the number one is associated with  God.  "Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one"  (Deut. 6:4).  One is also associated with unity and primacy, also pointed to God.  The number seven is the great number of spiritual perfection.  The symbolism of 6 + 1 = 7 is beautiful to me.  God's Holy Spirit, given to us at baptism, transforms us into a new creation feeding on the Living Water poured out for us.

Acts 2:17
No, this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel: 17 "`In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams.  Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days, and they will prophesy. 19 I will show wonders in the heaven above and signs on the earth below, blood and fire and billows of smoke. 20 The sun will be turned to darkness and the moon to blood before the coming of the great and glorious day of the Lord. 21 And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.'

Rev. 22:17
The Spirit and the bride say, "Come!" And let him who hears say, "Come!" Whoever is thirsty, let him come; and whoever wishes, let him take the free gift of the water of life.

Rev. 21:6
He said to me: "It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To him who is thirsty I will give to drink without cost from the spring of the water of life.  He who overcomes will inherit all this, and I will be his God and he will be my son.

Old Testament Pouring Out Miracle
2 Kings 4:4 Elisha said, "Go around and ask all your neighbors for empty jars. Don't ask for just a few.  Then go inside and shut the door behind you and your sons. Pour oil into all the jars, and as each is filled, put it to one side."  She left him and afterward shut the door behind her and her sons. They brought the jars to her and she kept pouring.  When all the jars were full, she said to her son, "Bring me another one." But he replied, "There is not a jar left." Then the oil stopped flowing.  She went and told the man of God, and he said, "Go, sell the oil and pay your debts. You and your sons can live on what is left."
