The
stars are the creation of God.
"When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon
and the stars, which you have set in place, what is man that you are
mindful of him, the son of man that you care for him?" (Psalm
8:3).
|
| |
God named
and numbered the stars:
"He determines the number of the stars
and calls them each by name."
(Psalm 147:4).
"By his Spirit the heavens are
garnished; His hand hath pierced the swift serpent. Lo, these are but
the outskirts of his ways: And how small a whisper do we hear of him!"
(Job 26:13)
"Lift your eyes and look to the
heavens: Who created all these? He who brings out the starry host one
by one, and calls them each by name. Because of his great power and
mighty strength, not one of them is missing."
(Isaiah 40:26).

The
stars are for signs, seasons, days and years:
 |
The apparent
line or
path of constellations is called the "ecliptic."
(see illustration below) |
 |
The constellations mark
the seasons. |
 |
The stars are the timepiece of a Master! It takes approximately 26,000 years for the stars
to return to the same position. |
And God said, Let there be lights in the
firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them
be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years. (Gen.
1:14)
Psalm 19:1-4 The heavens declare the
glory of God;
and the firmament shows
his handiwork.
Day unto day utters
speech,
and night unto night
reveals knowledge.
There is no speech nor
language,
where their voice is not
heard.
Their
line
is gone out
through all the earth,
and their words to the
end of the world.
